Robotics facilitator in extracurricular activities (English and French)

Job Description:

Extracurricular in robotics:

  • Host a 60-minute show, with the aim of entertaining young people after school hours.
  • Arrive 30 minutes in advance to welcome the young people in the places designated by the person in charge.
  • Take attendance and notify managers in case of absence.
  • Lead while respecting the values ​​and personality of the company.
  • Ensure the safety of the premises and the safety of children at all times.
  • Inform the manager of any anomalies noted with the premises.
  • Ensure the hygiene and health of children.
  • Maintain discipline and good order.
  • Know how to manage time.
  • Accompany youth to the meeting point and ensure they return with an authorized responsible adult.
  • Provide first aid in the event of an accident.
  • Write accident reports if necessary and communicate them to the responsible persons.
  • Contact the responsible persons in the event of non-compliance with the rules, undesirable behavior or recurring lack of respect towards the equipment, the young people or the facilitator.
  • Ensure that the premises are clean at the end of the activity.
  • See to the transport and storage of equipment at the end of each activity in the warehouse.

Required qualifications:

  • Have a developed sense of organization
  • Have a good ability to transmit information (know how to inform and popularize)
  • Have good interpersonal relationships
  • Be responsible, reliable and punctual

Specific requirements:

  • Experience in robotics: LEGO® WeDo 2.0 and/or LEGO® EV3 and/or LEGO® Spike
  • Experience in SCRATCH programming

Requirements:

  • No criminal record relating to employment (a document attesting to a background check or impediment will be required)
  • Valid British Columbia driver’s license
  • Have a car
  • Experience with children aged 5 to 12 (minimum of 2 years of experience)
  • Up-to-date first aid course (CPR/AED)

Languages: Bilingual (English and French)

Job Location: Greater Vancouver

Position Type: Part time

Benefits available: No

Training: $16.75 per hour

Travel allowance: $0.52 per km traveled and $16.75 per hour by car

Availability: From September 2024 to June 2025 (Monday to Friday in schools at the end of the day or during lunchtime)
